all about food

I am lucky enough to teach a subject that applies to everyone until the day they die; food.  We all eat and hopefully prepare food!

Last week, I made beautiful icing roses on cupcakes.  The recipe was bake shop icing found at allrecipes.com.  We used a stand mixer (whip), stirred the granulated sugar into the milk, microwaved for 30 seconds and stirred some more to dissolve the sugar just a little.  The mixture looks curdled; just as you are about to give up it becomes a beautiful creamy icing.  Magic.  This is a food prep that takes patience and a good stand mixer.
