cube stale bread, pan fry with oil and seasonings, until golden brown
wash romaine and refrigerate a few hours before preparing the salad
spin washed, separated leaves (I would tear first)
A knife if you are eating immediately, tearing is preferred to avoid brown bruised lettuce
top romaine with dressing, parmesan cheese and croutons; toss
I prepared the dressing in a blender (or immersion blender) omitting the anchovies
